Our philosophy
Born from a passion for beautiful, English interiors, Stanwick & Co adopts a 'make it well and make it last' approach when it comes to crafting furniture by enlisting the best craftsmen and using the best materials.
How we started
Our story began in Somerset, England in 2022. Where our English founders identified a vacuum in the interiors industry—a need for sustainable, locally made furniture that prioritised both aesthetics and durability. Just as "fast fashion" has transformed clothing, the furniture industry has embraced disposable pieces that, while affordable, require frequent replacement.
The revelation that 80% of discarded furniture ends up in landfills due to poor recyclability shocked our founders. Frustrated by the scarcity of lifetime-quality furniture, they embarked on their own furniture-making journey.
We believe that good design enhances daily life, guided by our philosophy of "buy once, buy well." Every piece we create in our English and European workshops embodies timeless design, ergonomic comfort, and lasting quality.
Where we are today
Today, our British furniture is sold in both the UK and US markets. Since opening in September 2024, Stanwick & Co has helped customers curate quintessentially British interiors for their homes and clients.
We operate from two global bases: our Somerset workshop in the UK and our Michigan facility in the US, where we fulfill all orders. Our growing team of more than 15 includes expert craftsmen, marketers, designers, and logistics specialists. Though our roles differ, we share a unified commitment to exceptional design that improves lives.

Our values
Stanwick & Co was launched with the idea of creating timeless, British made furniture from the best, natural materials. As antithesis to the throwaway culture, our approach includes selecting the highest quality materials such as European oak, using sleek lines which give our furniture a timeless edge, and having a sharp focus on functionality.
Materials
High quality materials are essential in ensuring a product's longevity. Oak, one of our favourite woods to work with, is prized for its strength and durability and is a truly timeless material for making furniture. Using the best hard wood materials is crucial in our mission to make beautiful furniture a cherished heirloom.
Craftsmanship
We enlist only the most talented craftsmen in our UK workshops who use a blend of traditional techniques and modern machinery to craft our furniture. There may be some small differences between each piece of furniture, making each piece unique.
